The Many Novels Of Anne Perry
The author of many suspenseful mystery and detective books is known to readers as Anne Perry, but her birth name is actually Juliet Marion Hulme. Juliet was born and raised in London and this one author has found herself in almost the same position as some of her novels.
She has faced several tribulations throughout her life, beginning at a young age when she became diagnosed with tuberculosis. After her diagnosis, her parents sent her to the warmer climate of South Africa. After her return home, she developed a tight friendship with a school friend named Pauline Parker. Despite being young, this friendship ended up leading to murder charges. Juliet and Pauline plotted to take Pauline’s mother for a walk and murder her, which they did with over 45 blunt blows to the head. The two teenagers were convicted on murder charges and both went to prison, never to speak again. This is the time Perry began plans of someday writing books that pertain to murder and investigation.
Perry first went to the United States, but soon moved to the Scottish village of Portmahomack and began a journey of writing successful novels of murder and suspense. In 1979, she published her first murder mystery novel called “The Cater Street Hangman” and by 2003, she has released 47 novels. She uses the Victorian and/or WWII eras as the setting in her novels and has the tendency of using the same characters in the books.
