C.W. Grafton, former crime novelist, became a father on April 24th in the year 1940. On this day, his daughter Sue was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
Sue Taylor Grafton was raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she attended the University of Louisville. Where she majored in English literacy and received her degree in the year 1961. Grafton began writing mystery novels when she was 18 years old, and then moved on to writing screenplays for 15 years.
After Grafton gained more writing experience, she went back to her career as a mystery writer. Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone series starts with the novel "A is for Alibi," which was released in 1982. This Kinsey Millhone series finished with "T is for Trespass" in 2007. Grafton also released novels like Keziah Dane in 1967 and Kinsey and Me in 1992. Throughout her writing career, Grafton has won quite a few awards, including three Anthony Awards, three Shamus Awards, and a Christopher Award for her screenplay "Through the Fire." In July of 2000, she was named the YCWA of Lexington Smith Breaking Ridge Distinguished Woman of Achievement.
Sue Taylor Grafton is now 68 years old. When she first began writing, her novels were lacking something that many other novelists had. However, after years of practice in writing screenplays, she learned how to be a better writer and went after her dream. Grafton is a true example of how practice makes perfect.
