Thomas Perry is an American mystery novelist. He has written 16 mystery novels during his career so far, with a 17th expected for release next year. It will be the sixth installment in the critically acclaimed Jane Whitefield series.
Perry was born in Tonawanda, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1969. He went on to earn a PhD in English from The University of Rochester. Thomas has worked all kinds of jobs in his lifetime, and has been a commercial fisherman, a University Administrator, and of course, a writer.
He has also worked as a writer and producer on some popular prime time television shows. Shows like Simon and Simon, 21 Jump Street and Star Trek: The Next Generation are some examples of his work in television.
In his upcoming thriller, Perry brings Jane Whitefield out of retirement, after she had promised her husband she would settle down and live a normal life as a surgeon’s wife in Amherst, NY. Jane is confronted with a young pregnant girl, and must help her flee the people who are trying to kill her, despite the vow she made to her husband. It promises to be another hit from this New York Times bestselling author. It is set for release in January of 2009 and can be pre-ordered now.
Die hard fans are sure to be speculating as to whether or not Perry will give readers a 7th Jane Whitefield book. All we can do is just wait and see what he writes next.
